Creation of human-animal chimeras is relatively common in genetic engineering, for example, in the development of medicines. However, in recent years, successful attempts have been made tol create human-pig chimeras as a potentiall source of organs for transplantation. This involves introducing human stem cells into pig embryos, resulting in fetuses containing human tissues and potentially allowing human organs, such as kidneys, to develop within them. One of the aims of the work is to reflect on humanity’s constant pursuit of youth and immortality. Reflection about the ethics of such experiments, while also delving into the fantasy of an endlessly regenerative organism.
